No salmon to Ross Club members then all of a sudden… 

After most of the season without any fish at all last week Matt Cooper caught the first Ross AC salmon of the season with only 17 days of the salmon season to go.

But that was topped yesterday by Steve Boswell fishing the Weirend Club water at the Brook and Hom Stream when he landed TWO magnificent cock salmon both measuring 36 inches and estimated to weigh around 17 or 18lbs.

Both salmon were taken on a switch rod with a floating line and a number 10 Bann Special fly.

This year has been terrible for salmon in the Wye with only 52 salmon so far for the whole river and Club salmon regular Steve, tongue firmly in cheek said ” That makes Ross Angling Club one of the best beats on the River”.
