River Wye Fish Species Challenge

ROWAC would like to invite you to take part in our ‘Species Challenge’.

The aim is to catch as many different fish species as you can between now and the start of close season (15 March 2027).

We are hoping that this will give you a new insight and challenge into the variety of fish swimming in our river, and it will help the Club’s knowledge as to which species we currently have in our waters.

The Winner will be presented with one of our precious silver trophies at the AGM in 2027.

Please take photos on your fish with your membership card visible in the picture and submit by 16 March 2027 to

secretary.rossac@gmail.com

Here is a list of the fish you may encounter on your ‘mission’ :

Barbel, chub, trout, grayling, roach, dace, bleak, minnows, bream, eel, carp, pike, perch, rudd, stone loach, bullhead and gudgeon.

Good luck to all !
