I’ve attached three photos of a kingfisher that was bothering Nick Simmonds our Membership Sec when he was fishing Hereford waters just before Christmas. In Nicks own words.

This little fella landed on my rod when I was holding it. After about 20 seconds I fumbled about for the phone, thinking he would fly off, but he stayed put for the rod pic, then hopped on to the net, dived in the river and returned to the net, then flew on to my knee! Gobsmacked is an understatement. I thought members might like to see the pics.

Nick did not tell me whether he caught or not but with this once in ten lifetimes moment it probably doesn’t matter!
