Hot weather as the Coarse Season starts – Only for the bold
Mixed results for the first day of the coarse season for Ross on Wye Anglers.
With the sun beaming and the river low and warm, most anglers have been up early, or up late!
Mixed results too. The best catch has been an incredible haul of 13 barbel, all in great condition, but some with lice. Many anglers have drawn a blank too.
Some of the fish are giving their location away by leaping from the water. Possibly a late spawn?
Small baits in the faster water seem to be producing the best results.
The weather forecast promises rain this weekend with cooler temperatures which will likely help.
My first fish of the season was a hard fighting 3.5lb chub caught while roving a single bait.
Tight lines and look forward to seeing you on the banks.
