Annual tradition!!

It has almost become a tradition that I write a post on here about the last fishing trip of the season by stalwart member Kim Harman. I met Kim and Peter Craven fishing at Weirend on 8th March when I made a visit to the salmon hut. They were fishing at the Bay just upstream of the hut.

Pictured is Kim with his first chub, a bog standard specimen of about 4lb. Kim told me later that ten minutes after that he had another of a similar size and followed it up with another four during the next hour. All the fish came to pellet and groundbait feeder. Kim tried both maggot and luncheon meat without a sniff. With the River fining down after floods Kim was fishing the main flow and needed 5oz weight to hold the bottom.

My thanks to Peter Craven for providing me with the photo.

If anyone else has photos of fish they caught on their last trip of the coarse season I’ll be pleased to publish them.
