Club gives 3 days notice of Fishery closure.

With daytime temperature approaching 33 degrees Celcius and water levels in the Wye the lowest that most of us can remember ROWAC has given 3 days notice to Members that the Club stretches of the River Wye will close if conditions remain as they are during the current heatwave.

Daytime temperatures in the Wye yesterday (Thurs 10/07/2025) rose to more than 24 deg C as the current heatwave continued and were still 21.8C this morning Friday.

The Club has advised all members; “in accordance with club protocol, we are hereby advising members that our fisheries will be closed from Monday 14th July until water temperature falls below 23 degrees c for three consecutive days.

Best just to say that for the moment for the welfare of the fish in our lovely River don’t go fishing.
