A November to remember… PB Wye barbel then a PB River Wye carp and now another PB.
After struggling the last few times out for the odd fish and with the cooler air and water temperatures, Paul Dowgill decided it was time to focus on chub. Armed with a loaf of bread and lighter gear it was time for a bit of roving on the Clubs Benhall waters. With only a couple of pike anglers about, Paul fished a few swims catching a handful of small chub around the 1lb mark before coming across a shoal of larger fish – two 4lb fish plus a fish equalling his Wye PB of 5lb 14 oz was the result. This was by far the deepest chub Paul has seen on the Wye and was no longer than 18 inches. All the fish were in great condition and fighting fit, and taken on bread flake on a size 10.
