With the weather and river looking good, Paul Dowgill headed back to the Ross waters for hopefully more barbel. After 6 hours without a touch, as he started to put his kit away a short pull on the tip signalled the obligatory chub thus saving the day. On striking it was obvious that this was no chub, perhaps another big barbel? Twenty minutes later after slowly coaxing the fish towards him, all the time it staying deep, Paul was able to slide the net under this fabulous river common carp. Weighing in at 24.04 it is Paul’s second Wye PB in three days. Can it get any better than this, perhaps be a good idea to buy a Lotto ticket for this Saturday.
