Hopeful start to the coarse season.

It has been quite a good start for the Clubs coarse members despite all the concerns about dealing with the Covid pandemic with a good mixture of Chub, Barbel and even decent Dace on feeder tactics from all stretches on Ross waters.

One of the most notable catches came to Club stalwart, Mick ( Strimmer man) Palfrey who scored in the pouring rain on Thursday, now there’s dedication. Mick caught 5 Barbel and 6 Chub and had a rare encounter with Weirend’s Carp. 2 super carp fell to his rod a common of 11lb 10oz and a superbly conditioned mirror carp of 8lb 9oz.

Mick Palfrey’s 11lb 10oz Common carp.
Fine well conditioned mirror carp 8lb 9oz to Mick Palfrey.

However Mick did not end his day well as he tore his new fishing jacket on a gate on the way back to his car and then managed to leave his rod quiver behind complete with rods in the carpark, he has since been repatriated with his kit.

If any members want to share photos of their fish caught from Club waters at the start of this season drop them via email to Trevor at barbarian18@live.co.uk
