Record heights expected as storm Dennis batters the Wye Valley.

The Wye is expected to reach possible record height as storm Dennis batters the Wye valley. The ground is still sodden from heavy rain last weekend and storm Ciara plus there was more rain overnight on Tuesday. So I’m going to stick my neck out and say that with 2 days of rain Saturday and Sunday the River will be lapping around the Bandstand in the park on late Monday or Tuesday. I think we will see the highest recorded this winter with the risk of matching 4.8 metres which according the the Environment Agency is the highest it has ever been, Though I believe it has been much higher in the past.

So fishing will be out for a few days until the River is back in its banks. Must be the wettest winter on record and I dare say the Met Office will confirm that in the fullness of time.
