Coffee break at a recent work party.
One thing about Ross on Wye Angling Club is the effectiveness of the Committee to provide good fishing for members and your current Committee never stint when it comes to providing the lead.
However as Chairman it is time to ask members to give up a bit of their time and help out. There are always lots of things to be done some of which have sat on various backburners for years. We generally get a good turnout to work parties but we need more people to get involved, not in any big way but just to help out with specific little jobs from time to time, work that involves a bit of initiative. After all as I have found since I became involved with Ross AC there is no right or wrong way to run an angling club.
So let me emphasise we are looking for enthusiastic members to join the team helping to run the Club. You don’t need any special skills but some skills such as computer literacy would be an advantage. You may feel you would like to be part of the Bailiff team. We are looking to supplement our team of bailiffs ensuring that Members and visiting anglers stick to the rules protecting our fish and waters.
None of us are getting any younger so it is imperative to bring in some new blood and we have a large membership and a waiting list almost as big. So please contact me directly to have a chat and we’ll see what YOU can do to help. Don’t think that you will be expected to give up loads of time, you will not, just to help where you can.
My contact details are on your Membership card or this website in contact details. I sincerely look forward to hearing from you in the very near future. Pick up that phone. Trevor Hyde.
