Really good start for Club members at the start of the 2019 salmon season. Matt Cooper was first out the starting blocks with a super fish from Benhall beat. The cock fish weighed in at 13lb and took a green and yellow fly fished on a sink tip line with a sinking polytip.
New member Andrew Llewellyn scored another later in the morning with a hen fish again of 13lb on a flying C from Benhall.
Third fish came to Club stalwart Jon Daniels who had an 8lb cock fish covered in sea lice on a flying C. The fish came from a recently renovated catch near Wilton Bridge for the first time since the 1980’s. I just happened to be on the bank when Jon caught his fish and I shot a short video the link is below which will take you to YouTube.
To add to an already brilliant day I had reports of 2 sea trout being taken by members but I’m still trying to track that one down.
